Who is Utilita?

Utilita is a medium-sized energy supplier in Great Britain, specialising in the provision of prepaid gas and electricity services. They emerged in the early noughties as an alternative to traditional energy suppliers, in large part due to their innovative solutions tailored to households and businesses that preferred to manage their energy using prepayment meters.

Their mission was to give British customers a fairer deal for their energy while providing them top-notch service. Becoming the first company in Great Britain to install a domestic smart meter back in 2005 underscored their mission and is a testament to their commitment to consumer-orientated energy provision.

Through its business arm, Utilita Business Energy, launched in 2016, the company delivers a range of services, including gas and electricity supply, energy management solutions, and consultancy services, catering to the diverse needs of small, medium, and large enterprises.

Bill Bullen, Utilita’s founder, wanted to give Britain’s businesses a fairer deal when he launched back in 2003. Today, Utilita Business Energy serves over 20,000 businesses across the UK, assisting them with reducing their energy bills and meeting their sustainability targets.
