Who is Ecotricity?

Ecotricity is an energy company driven by an overarching mission to fight climate change. Founded in 1995 by environmentalist Dale Vince, Ecotricity focuses on generating electricity from renewable sources such as wind, sun, and green gas. They exclusively offer green deals, using primarily wind and solar energy to offer businesses a chance to reduce their carbon footprint while powering their business.

The company was the first in the world to supply 100% green electricity to customers and has since become a leading advocate for sustainability and clean energy solutions in the UK.

In addition to their 100% green electricity, Ecotricity offers ‘green gas’ as an alternative to natural gas. They believe that building enough green gas mills will enable them to synthesise enough biomethane from grass cuttings to replace the natural gas in the national grid.

Joining Ecotricity means your bills will go towards building new wind farms, solar energy generating sites, and green gas mills. They are endorsed by the RSPB, The Vegan Society, and Sea Shepherd. With consumers becoming increasingly socially aware around the topic of climate change, Ecotricity could be the right supplier to enhance your business’ sustainability profile.

SMEs are also supported through the Microtricity scheme, which is available for both domestic and business customers. This initiative provides benefits to customers who have installed solar panels.

Electric Vehicle (EV) charging:

Ecotricity supports businesses in adopting electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure by providing EV charging points and installation services.

Additionally, Ecotricity operates one of the largest EV charging networks in the UK, known as the Electric Highway. They offer fast and rapid charging points at various locations across the country, making it easier for EV owners to charge their vehicles using renewable energy.
